About

In a former life I was a bit of a hellion. A former city dweller, now I'm just another woman living in the (sort of) country, waiting and wanting to win the lottery. Still feel nineteen, I'm raising two human critters in Northeast Ohio along with my spouse. Obsessed with technology, making things, and trying to make the world a little bit better... or at least more tolerable.

My work deals with the beauty being different. In freeing myself from the constraints of depicting conventional beauty, I am able to recognize the sublime nature of strangeness. I am particularly interested in abandoned structures and fantastic worlds.

My imagery is about unrest. Each piece is an emotional environment where the audience is invited to explore and question their preconceived notions of how they view their surroundings. In creating these pieces I have allowed myself to think about how I interact with the world.

I think about how I would feel if I was left behind or put into an entirely alien environment and push the audience to examine those same possibilities. If we question our feelings about otherness we allow ourselves to recognize the universal nature of these emotions and instill a sense of hope for our reclamation.
